What a beautiful Saturday!
I had to wake up entirely too early to get to the Honda dealership for my 8 am appointment. Somehow I was able to make it on time. Unfortunately, I was there for almost an hour and a half. I feel like I've spent major portions of my last two weekends getting that car serviced. As a result, I stopped by the VW dealership on the way home. The new Jetta SportWagens are so cute! My car is only a year old, but I'm so tempted to trade. I miss the reliability of German engineering.
After leaving the dealership, I stopped by Petco. It was doggy adoption day. I should have turned around, because it was quite upsetting. The puppies are cute, but I really feel horrible for the older dogs who probably will not find homes. I wish I had acreage in the country so that I could rescue all of them. Instead, I just stopped at each cage, let them lick my fingers, and scratched their heads. I hope that provided a little bit of love.
By the time I finally returned home, Jasper and Fletcher were feeling abandoned. Somehow, they know when it's the weekend and time for their morning ride to Starbucks. That came a little late today. Fletcher was pretty PISSED that he did not get his usual treat from the drive through employee.
All of this pre-noon activity rendered me exhausted, and I spent most of the afternoon napping. Boone Hall plantation was having a Civil War re-enactment across the street, so the occasional sound of canonfire kept waking me up.
I'm just now watching my first football game of the day. South Carolina is playing Florida. Go Cocks! Keep your fingers crossed.
I almost forgot--nancyboy Roger Federer was beaten in the Paris Masters tournament today. Yay! Congrats, Monfils. It's about time you whipped up on the Fed.
