Finally

I made it through the week.  This one has seemed unusually long.

I've done quite a bit of socializing (happy hours), which is not typical for me, and work has been exceptionally stressful.  I'm so tired.

I just returned from my dinner at Lon Point Grill.  What a great reward!  I ate entirely too much though.

I plan to be very lazy this weekend.  Tomorrow is haircut day, but other than that I have no firm plans.  I have to drive to Charlotte for a few days next week, so I fully intend to be a homebody until then.

Rain Rain, Go Away

I'm pissed.  I've been so good all week about running during lunch, but my plans were foiled today by the rain that started about 10 am.  Of course it cleared up around 1pm.  Unfortunately that was when my conference calls were gearing back up.

So I feel like a lazy slug.

On a bright note, it is Friday.  I began celebrating by grilling out steaks and then taking the PussyWagen, christened by Shazza, out for a drive to Towne Centre.

I have to go to the dealership tomorrow for a tutorial.  Apparently I am too dense to figure out how to load 6 CD's.  Pretty, but dumb.

Friday!

It's Friday!!!  And it's over 70 degrees outside.  It was a beautiful today and it's supposed to be nice all weekend.  I hope this isn't some cruel trick, getting our hopes up for spring before burying us under more snow.

Another sad celebrity death this week.  Uncle Leo from "Seinfeld" is the latest to pass on.  I'll never get the image of him with drawn on eyebrows out of my head.

Mmmmmm, I can't decide what I want to do this weekend.  After spending all of last weekend in bed sick, I just bursting to get out.  I think I might go to the park tomorrow to try and burn off some of the calories I just consumed at Long Point Grill.

Friday

Weekend at last.  And not a day too soon.  I'm feeling very congested.  I hope I'm not coming down with my first cold of the winter season.  I'll drink lots of OJ tonight and go to bed early.

I hope I feel well enough to look at cars tomorrow.

Saskia's birthday dinner is tomorrow night.  I definitely must be recuperated by then.

Duped

TGIF.  I've already begun celebrating, and just got in from a fattening meal at Outback Steakhouse.  I had to have my Aussie fix since the Australian Open has ended.

Now I feel like vomiting.  I ate way too much.

I'm very excited about seeing the baby tomorrow, but not too excited about the drive.  The little vixen had better appreciate the quality time with her awesome uncle.

I was totally duped by "Jersey Shore" last night.  Ronnie did not have hemorrhoids, but was bleeding out of his bottom due to excessive drinking.  I know, too much information, but the look on his face while he was getting examined was priceless.

G'day 12

Well, we're in the final days of the Aussie Open.  Somehow I doubt I will be waking up at 3 am to watch the women's final.  But stranger things have happened.

Andy Murray is back in the final.  This is a tough call, I'm not sure who's going to win.  Oh, the suspense.

It's Friday and I could not be happier.  At least by my standards.  I'm very sleepy, and I'll be surprised if I make it past 9 tonight.  Unfortunately I stayed up a bit late last night watching "Day of the Dead," which by the way was utter rubbish.  Since when do zombies run?  I've always prided myself with the knowledge that in the unfortunate event of a zombie situation, I would be able to easily survive.  All you have to do is never turn your back and never get cornered.  But this movie threw that strategy out the window.

At Last

I made it through the first full week back at work.  It's a minor miracle.  One more week to go before the next holiday weekend.

It looks like there may be snow or ice Monday morning, so I may have to leave for Charlotte a bit early.  I'm not a big fan of driving, even in the best conditions, much less in inclement weather.  We'll see how it goes.

I'm not sure what I want to do with my weekend.  I've seen all the movies I want to see.  God forbid I get  a head start on organizing for my tax return.  I'm not quite that desperate for tasks.  Yet.

One More Week

Ah.  Friday.  Another hectic week, but I'm that much closer to vacation.

This time next week, I'll be on I-95 halfway to Florida.  I can barely contain my excitement.

I have a ton of shopping to do this weekend.  I still do not know what to buy for Christmas presents for the family.  Hopefully I will become inspired quickly.  If not, they might have to settle for sombreros and tequila from Mexico.

It's still freezing here.  On the plus side, it makes me sleep like a baby.

Another week down...

Hell's Bells.  I made it through another work week.  A few more grey hairs, but no major injuries.  I plan to totally relax this weekend--it's off to Charlotte Monday morning for an entire week of banking fun.  It will be my longest business trip in quite a while.

Unfortunately, I have to get myself going pretty early tomorrow morning for Round 2 of car service.  Damned Honda.  But after that, it's back home for a nice relaxing day of football.

The South Carolina-Florida game is getting a lot of attention locally.  You'd think they were playing for the national championship instead of a spot in the SEC Championship game.   I'm keeping my mouth shut for fear of jinxing the Gamecocks. Can't lick out cocks.

I just read that Imperial Queen Bitch of the Universe Sarah Palin is planning a visit to Columbia to promote her upcoming book.  Is it possible for me to get a restraining order that prevents her from coming within a 150 mile radius of me or my home?

Her little no-talent tramp daughter, Bristol, is reportedly still in the running on "Dancing With the Stars".  Not that I watch or anything, but always looking for a good opportunity to dog the Palins.

It's only 7:13, but I've already had my weekly dose of Long Point Grill.   I could go to sleep right now...but won't.

Mr. Sandman...

...bring me an Ambien...

Happy Friday!

Is it just me, or was this week particularly exhausting?

I woke up 3 am from a horrible nightmare.  I was walking in a park in some unknown, strange town.  All of a sudden, residents were running down the street, screaming for everyone to run.  They were being chased by killer German Shepherds.  One of the killer dogs would catch a slow, fat person and begin feasting.  It was much more fast-paced than the zombie chases I've been watching recently, which made it all the more terrifying.

There was one headed my way, so I had to haul ass to the nearest pine tree.  It really pissed me off that there was not a tree with lower branches, so my climbing style was in the manner of a South Pacific islander climbing a coconut tree.  But less graceful.

The last few terrifying seconds were in slow motion, with me wondering if I had climbed high enough and out of reach of the approaching killer German Shepherd.

I couldn't go back to sleep after that, and the day has gone downhill ever since.

Society be damned, my tired ass will be in bed before 8 pm at this rate.  Tomorrow will be a busy day anyway, as I'm taking my car in for servicing and then parking myself on the sofa to watch football.

Good luck South Carolina versus Arkansas!  7 pm on ESPN.

Friday!

Happy Friday, loyal readers.  Especially my newest fans in South Africa!

After a fairly productive week, I left Charlotte late yesterday afternoon.  I made a quick stop in Columbia to have a quick bite to eat with Tonya.  It was a pleasant surprise to be able to catch up with her at our little Mexican restaurant.

Unfortunately, Ashley and little Jay-Z bailed on me.  Get well soon to my bro-in-law while he nurses his knee back to health.  Ashley IS a nurse, but I think a 3 week-old and a crippled husband are more than she signed up for right now.  Jay-Z will probably be half-grown by the time she gets to see me again.

Today was a fairly uneventful workday.  Pretty quiet for a Friday, and no fires to put out. Every day should be that way.

On a personal note, I did have a run-in with Mary the Feral Cat Feeder, who lives next door to me.  Apparently she thinks it's funny that she supports the wild feline population with Tender Vittles, and confessed that she has even given them names.

Mary---I'm tired of my doggies be taunted by evil cats, and having my shoulder pulled out of the socket when they try to bolt.   Tired of seeing them dig up cat turds, which are like little Tootsie Rolls to them.  Of hearing the meowing late at night from horny pussies.  Tired of no longer seeing birds and squirrels outside my window.

Furthermore, I'm tired of the little cat paw prints on top of my car.  I let you off easy when your senile self backed into my car and scraped my paint job.  I will NOT be so forgiving next time, as your little furry friends have been Dancing With the Stars all over my paint job.

So there's my argument, Mary, gauntlets have been thrown.  If you want to be an elderly cat lady, keep them inside.  This is war.  On you AND your pussies.

After that drama, of course I had to end the night with a trip to Long Point Grill.  I can't think of a better way to end the week.  Thanks always to the best waitresses in Charleston, Sally and Danielle.  See you guys next week.

It's 7:30 PM and I want to crawl into bed now.  I have no idea what I'll do this weekend, but I'll definitely be starting it out with a nice 12 hour sleep...
