Finally

I made it through the week.  This one has seemed unusually long.

I've done quite a bit of socializing (happy hours), which is not typical for me, and work has been exceptionally stressful.  I'm so tired.

I just returned from my dinner at Lon Point Grill.  What a great reward!  I ate entirely too much though.

I plan to be very lazy this weekend.  Tomorrow is haircut day, but other than that I have no firm plans.  I have to drive to Charlotte for a few days next week, so I fully intend to be a homebody until then.

Friday Night

It's Friday and I successfully survived another grueling work week.  This was the worst in a long time.

To reward myself, I had dinner at Long Point Grill.  It was well worth the wait.

I was the trashiest movie On Demand tonight.  "Zombies of Mass Destruction" is the campest thing I've seen in ages, so of course I highly recommend it.  I just hope that does not inspire any zombie-themed dreams.  I have any early day tomorrow.  It's early morning carwash and downtown did get my hair did.  So I need my rest.

The 3rd ranked Gamecock baseball team kicked off their weekend series with a 3-1 win against the top-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores.  Go Cocks!

In tennis news, crybaby Roger Federer lost in the quarterfinals of Monte-Carlo.  Rafa continues to roll.

The perfect start to a weekend...

Friday

Friday at last and I survived another week.  Next week I'll be in Charlotte, so hopefully it will go by quickly and painlessly.

I'm pretty exhausted.  Work was busy but tolerable and I was approached about a potential position.  For the first time in ages, it seems that I actually have choices.  too bad I'm horrible at making decisions.

I had a nice dinner at Long Point Grill.  It's made me very sleepy though...don't think I'll be able to stay up much longer.

Friday!

It's Friday!!!  And it's over 70 degrees outside.  It was a beautiful today and it's supposed to be nice all weekend.  I hope this isn't some cruel trick, getting our hopes up for spring before burying us under more snow.

Another sad celebrity death this week.  Uncle Leo from "Seinfeld" is the latest to pass on.  I'll never get the image of him with drawn on eyebrows out of my head.

Mmmmmm, I can't decide what I want to do this weekend.  After spending all of last weekend in bed sick, I just bursting to get out.  I think I might go to the park tomorrow to try and burn off some of the calories I just consumed at Long Point Grill.

Awesome Day

What a day of extreme highs and extreme lows.  The first half was very challenging, taken up mostly by conference calls related to work.  My frustration level was nothing short of stratospheric.
However, my afternoon was awesome.  I'm not at liberty to discuss the details just yet, but hopefully I'll be able to relay more information soon.

I just returned from a nice dinner at Long Point Grill, 2 days early.  I'm stuffed fuller than a Thanksgiving turkey and am counting down the hours until bedtime.

Happy 100th!

Happy 100th post!  I never knew I had it in me.

It's Saturday, and you know what that means---SEC Championship this afternoon.  The South Carolina Gamecocks take on Scam Newton and Auburn in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.  Go Cocks!

It's still freezing here.  I'm not sure I'm going to make it two weeks until Miami and the cruise.

I had an unusual Friday night dining experience last night.  I wanted to go to places which I rarely frequent, just to give Long Point Grille a break.  So I went to Sodawater Grill.  Closed.  Meaning closed for business, not just for the evening.  Shocker.  So then I tried Benito's Brick Oven Pizzeria in Towne Centre.  Empty.

It was madness.  I was afraid to go anywhere else for fear of jinxing any more of my favorite places.  In the end, I went to La Hacienda, where business was booming.  Viva Mexico!

Random

I don't really have anything interesting to say, so this post will be like a "Seinfeld" episode---about nothing.

  • Friday cannot come soon enough.  Just when I think things cannot get any crazier, they do.  So I'm just going to cease with the expectations of normalcy.
  • Got an email from my tennis buddy today.  Traveling around the country, counting down the days until the Family Circle Cup tennis tournament, where we are volunteer drivers for the W.T.A. divas.  Six more months, David---and YOU'RE driving Dementieva this year.
  • I was officially rejected by Chick-fil-A yesterday.  At least by their franchise selection committee.  Apparently they have no desire the open franchises in the areas I specified.  At least that is what I'm telling myself.  Because I know it couldn't be me personally (not after my heartfelt essay answers I concocted for my application).  I thought maybe boycotting would be a suitable manner of protest, but that would really just be hurting me.  Oh well, at least I can say I tried, and cross that off of my list.
  • I cannot wait for my Friday night binge at Long Point Grill.  Buttermilk fried chicken breast, collard greens, and mashed potatoes.  Will undo all the good progress re:diet and exercise, but so worth it.  Sometimes being fat just seems worth it.
  • I'd like to give a big shout out to my readers in Argentina and the Netherlands!  I would say something in Spanish, but then I would feel bad about neglecting the Dutch.
  • Cool weather is finally here---had to turn on the heat last night.  I'll soon be longing for the 100 degree days.

Ok, I really am just rambling to take up space at this point.  I hope to have more entertaining thoughts tomorrow.
